Specialist, Connected Business

The Specialist, Connected Business supports strategic projects and innovation in connected vehicle solutions. This role develops project plans, coordinates teams, and ensures timely delivery. The incumbent conducts market
research to inform business decisions, maintains clear and accurate documentation, and leads quality assurance
activities to uphold standards and compliance. By analyzing data and sharing insights, the Specialist drives
continuous improvement and supports business growth. Effective collaboration and communication with stakeholders are essential, as is adapting to changing priorities. The incumbent will report to the Manager, Connected Business- Strategy & Development and will be based out of Subaru Canada’s office in Mississauga, ON.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Planning

  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining objectives, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, success criteria, and key milestones.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and timely execution of project activities.
  • Monitor progress against timelines, proactively addressing risks and issues to keep projects on track.
  • Adjust plans as needed to accommodate changing business requirements and priorities.

Documentation:

  • Translate business needs into clear technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documents, including business requirements, use cases, process diagrams, and user guides.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective communication between business and technical teams to support project clarity and alignment.
  • Continuously refine documentation to reflect evolving processes and requirements.

Quality Assurance and Evaluations:

  • Lead change management meetings for new processes and technologies.
  • Coordinate and perform user acceptance testing, training, and deployment.
  • Monitor effectiveness of changes and gather feedback.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and regulations.
  • Review and correct defects or deviations.
  • Validate test cases and manage issue tickets.
  • Test apps and programs for Canada-specific requirements.

Market Research:

  • Research market trends and competitor offerings in connected vehicles.
  • Analyze customer feedback and industry data for new opportunities.
  • Track regulatory changes and technological developments.
  • Summarize findings and share actionable insights with stakeholders.

Knowledge Transfer:

  • Support knowledge transfer to empower internal and external stakeholders in confidently adopting new technologies across departments.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills / Attributes:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective relationship-building, workshop facilitation, and presentation of insights to diverse audiences.
  • Highly adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities with composure.
  • Strong decision- making capabilities, particularly in defining scope and timelines. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and market research, with a keen analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to distil complex information into actionable recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in business analysis, project management, or related roles.
  • Tech-savvy, with strong skills in process documentation and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Knowledge of connected vehicle systems, automotive, technology, or communications sectors is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Bilingual (English/French) preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Conditions:

  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Primarily office-based with prolonged computer use.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working hands-on in settings such as garages and around vehicles.
